This is the sort of thing that could turn out to be really bad, so I'm glad it turned out really goddam good instead.

That's fantastic. I wanted to hate it for the first 30 seconds or so, and his flow is occasionally a little weak, but there are just too many killer moments.

Just as the toxic waste scene made the movie, the toxic waste verse makes this song.

Great concept, but a little long. Or maybe the problem is the emotionless delivery...wait. RoboCop. Emotionless. OK, I get it now.

Role models are important. We need as much RoboCop on MeFi as possible before the remake. (Previously)

Also, previously on MeFi.

"That was great! They should do RoboCop next, then I'd have both my favourite movies from 1987 in rap form! Although, seeing as this apparently took them nine months to create, I'm not holding my breath."

Narita airport in the present day
a plane is landing on a long runway
A man emerges with a droopy face and bows
he greets as many people as time allows...
Now, through the city of neon signs
one billboard has his face in black and white.
Into the hotel bellboy grabs his bags
two women approach him and his face begins to sag,
Glass elevator looks over this crazy nation,
will he find peace here, or just get lost in translation?

I'm making this for dinner, thanks to my lovely wife's mad recipe finding skillz. For the past couple of years I've grown and dried scarlet runner beans and only recently got the nerve to cook some up and find out that they're fucking delicious.

I love beans.

Someone knocks, who can it be?
The cops, your sister? No, your mommy
She's checkin' up on you, because you're sick
Confirming that Rooney is a real dick
You stashed that dummy right in your bed
Jerry-rigged the place, trying to stay ahead
Out in Chicago, faking a cough
Don't worry, Ferriss Bueller just need a day off

He is a robot
He is a cop
Oh he is RoboCop!

Red Foreman shot him!
He shot his hand off!
Now he is ROBOCOP!

In his lair
No one's there
'Cause all the time
He's fighting crime
He's got a dog
His name is Lloyd
Together they
Protect Detroit!

He is a robot
He is a cop
Oh he is RoboCop!

Red Foreman shot him!
He shot his hand off!
Now he is ROBOCOP!

(sung to the tune of the RoboCop theme music)

So I looked up Robocop on IMDb, and was quite surprised to see how few films US Verhoeven has made, which I guess speaks mostly to the iconic status of the few that he did create -- he of course was not of responsible for either of the Robocop sequels, though in reading I did learn the tidbit that Peter Weller turned down the lead in Robocop 3 so he could appear in Naked Lunch, whose director, David Cronenberg, I was surprised to learn had a part in Nightbreed, though I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I wasn't aware due to the fact that not only wouldn't I be able to recognize Cronenberg on sight, I haven't seen Nightbreed in at least fifteen years -- speaking of, I wonder what Clive Barker is up to these days oh I see that it's something involving PANTS.

Fans of Verhoeven American works should check out Black Book, which is basically “what if Verhoeven did an Anne Frank film, but instead of all the hiding there was lots of violence and sex?”

Personally I love his stuff – even his dumbest films have something slyly subversive about them, and he relly keeps up a relentless pace in every film without any draggy bits – it’s always boom, on to the next thing.

Yes, camcgee, Cronenberg was the doctor/killer in Nightbreed. He also has an off-camera speaking part in his film Crash (it's at the end, the scene is at a junkyard or something). I'm actually surprised he hasn't been in more films as an actor.

Oh, and Naked Lunch was brilliant, and it's a crime that Peter Weller isn't in more films, and goddamnit Buckaroo Bonzai was totally gnarly.

In the dark and smokey room
It's quiet as a tomb
The camera slides across the minature boom
Leon looks nervous, the cop tries to relax him
It's just a test, and questions, he asks them
Designed to provoke response, of course
Leon is confused, asks, what's a tortoise?
The detective sighs, says it's a turtle
He's getting close, just one more hurdle
One more question, he's got no other

Man, this reminded me of the Maniac Cop Rap, which is actually used in the credits of Maniac Cop 2. No fancy video, because the movie just plays credits over this. The movies are rather fantastic, if you're into ridiculous "horror" movies that you can constantly mock.

billysumday, nope. Here's pics of The Anomalies, and some pics of Le Sac vs Pip, courtesy of google images. Seems like the former is younger than the latter, but I could be wrong. Pip has a big ole beard, while Mouthmaster Murf has long hair and a scruffy chin.
