I'm watching Herzog's Stroszek in the background and the music is just superb.

I missed you too Marisa :)

I don't suppose anyone would care to give me a hint as to what I'll see if I click any of those links?

I don't like mystery meat posts.

I mean, er, a demented buffet of visual treats and 60s camp. Sort of reminds me of what movies must be in The Cramps' movie collection.

Robots, porn, gorillas, ninjas, warriors, and a lot of women dying in horror/torture scenarios. Basically a decontextualized gallery of pulp.

I think it's a bunch of stuff those bohemian kids who hang out in the Cult Classics section of the video store would find ironically cool in a post-ironic ironic kinda way. T&A, gorillas, pulp book covers. Y'know.

Hey guys, is there a program that will allow me to download every pic from that b!k!n! link in one shot?

Cuz I am going to have to do just that. Thanks, vronsky.

Awesome.

She has wide hips and healthy hair and large breasts and she is wearing only jewelry and fur and she wants you to give her babies. They will have plenty of milk and expensive educations and they will be attractive and they will propagate your genes. What could be better.

Previously, more or less.

I like these, but I wish more (any) context was available, because some of them really latch onto the curiosity.

this is metametafilter, and like those French structuralists I studied in collage, I find myself wondering if I don't get it because I'm stupid, or if no one really gets it, and wouldn't you know it, the first google result for the post title...it's from Down Under!
I feel smart.

vronsky, thanks for the post.

I can't decide what I like most about this photo.

Are they selling subscriptions to the undecided woman? The innocuous and forgettable painting of daisies on the wall? The earnest expression on the bearded fellow's face ("As you can see here on page 17, this is new and it's definitely a...well, isn't that something?")? The fact that the woman seems like she might be coming around to their point of view? The awful ashtray, which looks like a pound cake, on the table? The straightforward title of the periodical? The finger entering the frame from the right, underlining Beard's pitch?

So much to love.

I think you would need to start a movement. If you're desperate though I would imagine a very quick google search would lead to a "bushel" of pubic hair fetish groups.

I can't decide what I like most about this photo.

You know what's bizarre...walk down any street in any urban, hipster oriented section of any city (e.g. Williamsburg, Brooklyn) and you'll see 80% of the guys sporting this dude's look. But not a single girl showing of his blonde friend's style. Is there even a word for that woman's hairstyle?

Sorry, I keep finding more to love about this pic, like maxwelton.

The lady with "wide hips and healthy hair and large breasts" is Brigitte Lahaie, the first French female pornstar. Her career was rather short (1976-1980) but she somehow attained a "sex goddess" status in France. Today, she's running a popular 2-hour talk show (giving sex advice with the help of doctors and psychologists) on mainstream radio.

It'd be good if there was some background info for some of the pictures. Some of the more famous women or movies I recognize, but then there is all sorts of crazy.

Do vronsky and his mystery-meat-posting ilk get an exemption from [nsfw] tags or something? I just really lowered myself in the opinion of the girl sitting behind me.

I'm sure if you explain the situation she'll understand. "So this guy, vronsky, he makes these posts out of nowhere. You have to click the links. There's a common thread to them but it's not immediately obvious. Yes, there are sometimes boobs. Please don't think less of me. Can I buy you a macchiatto?"
