Bush to meet with Dalai Lama! This is a big deal to us Buddhists, as well as Tibetan freedom supporters. Wonder what His Holiness will have to say about the death penalty...

I think Bush's handlers see this as simply a good photo opportunity for their boss. What is Bush going to do for Tibet? Does he know anything about Buddhism? Does he know anything about Tibet except that China invaded it? Can he find Tibet on a map?

Country Governor George W. Bush either doesn't see how this can affect things globally, or he's purposefully picking a fight with China. Either way, he's an idiot, and I'm still proud to say I didn't vote for him.

I don't even want to fathom what kind of stupid things Bush will say in front of the Dalai Lama... *sigh* Unfortunately, I'm sure he'll find a way to humiliate himself, and in turn, the rest of us Americans.

Stupid things Bush might say to the Dalai Lama:

1. "So uh, izzat a kilt?"
2. "Bet I can drink you under the table, dude."
3. "You gotta son? I'm tryin' to marry off my daughter. Find some guy who'll keep her barefoot and pregnant, so she'll stop gettin' me in trouble. You know anybody?"
4. [pointing] "Ha ha! Four eyes!"
5. "Y'know if Clinton was still around we'd look like The Three Stooges! ...I'd be Moe of course."
6. "So you're uh.. jewish right?"
7. "I bet if we buffed yer head I could see my reflection in it."
8. "Psst! Didja bring yer bong? They won't let me toke up anymore now that I'm president and all..."
9. "Tell ya whut. You want Tibet back, I wanna start a war. What say you officially become a United States citizen, and in return we just send a whole buncha F-16s up China's ass and nuke the whole place? In about 20 years the radioactive fallout will fade and you can have Tibet back again."
10. "What you mean you believe in nonviolent resolutions to stuff? Get this guy outta here! I don't work with wimps!"

I agree that this is just a photo op for W (although I have been encouraged by Colin Powells comments about Tibet) - his father, afterall, bought into the Chinese propaganda about Tibet and the Dalai Lama. I doubt that the shrub falls too far from the bush.
