Mmmm, pinched artwork, entirely uncredited. I saw quite a bit of Ron Cobb in there.
...
I myself did a bit of protestin' when I was at uni and afterwards. It was juvenile art like this that made me cringe inside and feel sympathy for the poor cops. Hell, my flexible-baton fingers are twitching right now.
Smell that son? That's capsaicin. Nothin' else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of tear gas in the morning...

This one reminded me of Irma and Wilbur.

Irma, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose in to other people's business. Several members did not approve of her extra curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.

She made a mistake, however, when she accused Wilbur, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon. She emphatically told Wilbur (and several others) that everyone seeing it there would know exactly what he was doing.

Wilbur, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment, then just turned and walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny... he said nothing.

Later that evening, Wilbur quietly parked his pickup in front of Irma's house, walked home, and left it there all night.

You gotta love Wilbur.

If only you had posted this last week, I wouldn't have purchased that Che t-shirt made by Chinese capitalists.

These are sort of meh, but I rather like the black baguette of anarchy in -'s profile.

This would be the best photoshopping job I've ever seen, if I had just recently purchased my first pair of eyeballs.

These graphics confuse me, after viewing them I don't know whether to laugh, dump chemicals in a wetland or oppress brown people.

There was a black freighter reference that I quite liked.

The anti-genetic modification people need to meet some real gene jockeys though. If I saw a guy like this in our building, I'd call security. Real Gene Jockeys often have long hair, a beard (or at least a mustache) and would generally just as soon be shot in the knees and left for dead as wear a tie.

The purpose of this website is to provide activists, radicals, revolutionaries, and otherwise left-leaning individual

So is that just a general grouping, or are activists left-leaning?
posted by niles at 9:49 PM on February 8, 2009

These graphics are radical, but they're just not totally radical.

Where's the section filled with graphics decrying the soul-crushing conformity of Marxist sloganeering? Where are the images denouncing Stalin? Where is the clip-art that demonizes the brutally repressive socialist junta in Burma?

Never mind, that, dude, pass the bong and turn up the stereo coz my fav'rite Rage Against The Machine song just came on!

The Pizza! Divided! Will Never Be Reheated! The Pizza! Divided! Will Never Be Reheated!

In the back of my reptilian brain where my Super Cool Plans That I'm Totally Going To Do live alternative political posters.

Big Linotype letters, "DEMOCRACY DOESN'T WORK!" above a huge woodcut of Louis XIV. "ELECT LE ROI SOLEILl!"

Vaugely cut-out 30ish sillouettes of a family against a dawn. Big ass Gill Sans type over it. "INGSOC WORKED FOR BRITAIN. IT CAN WORK FOR YOU."

Gauzy perscription-drug-like ad of a person in a dark room looking out the window. Soft Focus. "ALONE? ANXIOUS? WANTING MORE? WE CAN HELP." Cheerful little "THE COLLECTIVE" logo. "Billions of friends are just an implant away. Join the Collective. We're all waiting for you. (Please visit reisistanceisuseless.org for a free trial)"

And finally, during the holidays:

Bombastic Soviet Realism/North Korean style portrait of a ruddy-faced gentleman with long white beard.

"DICTATOR FOR LIFE. SANTA."

"What are you rebelling against?"

"What have you got?"

"Well, everything here is arranged alphabetically, from America to Zapatistas. Spend as much time browsing as you'd like."

"kthx."

"I... I think I'm rebelling, sir."

"What?"

"I... I think that's what I'm doing, yes."

"What are you rebelling against?"

"What ya got?"

[...]

"I need the keys to your bike." / "You got it."
