Tomorrow Belongs to Her

This post was deleted for the following reason: It's an awful thing to happen, but rush-to-post link to a rumorish E! blog entry is really kind of lowballing it on post quality. -- cortex

Given all the rumors yesterday, and that there's been no official word from her family, I think this is a little premature.

Whatever the outcome this is horrifically tragic and I feel immensely for her family, especially her sons. Poor Liam Neeson, they weren't even together when this happened.

I was just thinking how stunning she is on Top Chef the other day. To bump your head, feel fine, then die within days seems impossible.

There is nothing left to do but pray for her family.

"It's particularly tragic for Vanessa," laments a Richardson confidante, "because she just finished playing a woman who loses her daughter in The Year of Magical Thinking, and now she has to endure it all over again."

With all due respect to theater, TV, and film professionals, this strikes me as tasteless.

I find the title of this post rather distasteful. I know she performed was in Cabaret, but I'm not sure why a song supposed to be a kind of Nazi anthem should be associated with the death of an actress who played Sally Bowles.

The same thing happened to a friend of a friend here in Japan. He was snowboarding and fell and hit his head. Not hard, because he just got up and kept on boarding. But he had bleeding in the brain and didn't even have symptoms, just went to sleep that night as normal and didn't wake up the next day. Makes me think twice about going snowboarding next winter.

I think the point is here that a method actor is striving to actually go through the emotions the character experiences in a very real way. Redgrave is an excellent actor who deeply immerses herself in her role.

It is sadly ironic that Redgrave, after living the experience of the death of a child through the eyes of a character onstage, now may be living that reality.
