Buyer's Guide to Alternadomains. Can't secure a .com/.org/.net domain? As we know, a host of small nations are selling their domainspace, but the requirements have always been a bit confusing. So I did my research and compiled all the basic information on one page. Now you can comparison-shop among .cc, .gg, and .nu!

Ah, yes. There are a number of lists of domain registrars on the net-- I even wrote a story for A List Apart on personal domain names. But my wee Alternadomains page focuses on alternative top-level domains. If you're in Toronto you can't just order up a .com.br or a .fr domain, but you can do exactly that with .nf or .cx.

"personal"? "vanity". needless -- why so huffy?

"Personal" domain name as in "a domain name equal to your real name." "Vanity" as in "custom-selected," like a vanity license plate. Um... I don't see what the problem is.

Well, I thought it was interesting—especially like the .nu domain. It's catchy!
