Dans un formidable élan de générosité notre patron adoré nous offre enfin la possibilité de voir son FILM sur la toile!

Nothing short of absolutely amazing.

Also, is there a name for this genre/style? It has elements of Little Wheel (from a recent MeFi post), some Tim Burton, Mark Ryden, et al. With amazing yet haunty music. Love it!

Bonsoir, Monsieur COK!

I was lured inside by the pointed lack of an NSFW tag.

(Great find, btw.)

quite awesome.

(will everyone still like it once they realize it could be labeled 'steampunk'?)

Thank you Boo!
There's a thriving animation and multimedia scene in France, with festivals like Annecy and great schools like the LISAA, the ENSAD , SupInfoCom and the master at the INA (Institut National de l'Audiovisuel), which is also notable for their awesome archive of audiovisual material and their own ImagINA festival, sometimes considered "the European Siggraph".
Each summer, I carefully prune the video sites for the shorts that are usually released after the finals, and most of them are absolutely incredible material, often with a fresh, ingenious, original take on animation.
Don't miss the demo reels, too.

Completely honest question...Is 'steampunk' one of those things like 'hipster' where nobody wants to self-identify? And if so, why?

The guy pulling himself to the factory of the industrialist by means of sickle and hammer was a nice touch. Great find, thanks.

_dario, I bet you could flesh that out into a superior post for the blue.
