A little something sweet and SLYT for Father's Day: Dads reenact famous movie scenes.

(I don't think this is selling anything besides the contest, and the comedy troupe itself. Apologies if I'm mistaken.)

I liked the concept but would have preferred to see the dad's do scenes from really famous movies, not movies that just came out last year. Like, see them act out parts from films that they themselves have probably seen numerous time (The Godfather, Casablanca, North by Northwest, etc.).

Cute, though.

I like how each dad sort of shrugs when his part is over.

That said, if they had to do a twilight moment I would have liked to see "THIS IS THE SKIN OF A KILLER, BELLA!"

I was really hoping they would do something from Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Oh well.

Yeah, no kidding. There was Scarface, Taxi Driver...

Some worked a lot better than others; when the dads didn't get the vibe of the scene, the results were hilarious. But some (like Taxi Driver) were not that interesting. The Star Trek one was great.

Uh... you mean the only one in the post? Yeah, I think I did.

I guess what I meant was what I wrote: "see them act out parts from films that they themselves have probably seen numerous time[s]". It seemed pretty clear that none of these people had seen these films or if they had, they left no impression on them. However, it's my experience that pretty much everyone has a favorite scene from a favorite movie. My dad, as an example, loves to do an exaggerated Jimmy Stewart drawl. He wouldn't have needed a script in his hand and he wouldn't have shrugged ("Is that what you wanted me to do?") at the end. He would have done it with zest. Now, add props and greenscreen and it would have been a nice treat for him for father's day whereas this seemed the equivalent of dressing up a dog for hallowe'en. Cute, but mostly for everyone but the dog.

Come on, just admit you only watched the first 60 seconds of the video before commenting.

This was cute. I especially liked the parts where the dads would read their lines and then stop, look at the camera, smile, and shrug. I can picture my dad doing that.

"I am Spock."
"Bullshit!"
"Mmm hmm."

That one was my favourite too.
