Late Thursday Flash Fun: Dropsum V2 is like a mix of sudoku and tetris and some other kind of block game. Much mindless fun to be had...

Great, two very addicting games combined into one. We already have World of Warcraft and Peggle. What's next, actually bundling crack with Blackberries?
it was fun

After you start getting 6's it doesn't seem to get any harder... so if you're not having trouble by then you just play until you don't want to any more? Do I just need to play longer?

Neat game, but my idea of "mindless" doesn't include doing math on a clock.

You know how it tells you that you can use your arrow keys to rotate the board? Don't ignore that.

Like I did.

Rotating the board just makes it easier without making it more interesting.

I just dropped things randomly, and still played for 10 minutes. Which is good because my ADD kicked in and I found another shiny thing.

Yeah, that pretty much wrecked the game for me, aubilenon. I was having a very good time, without having read the directions (of course) -- and then a scrolling message said "you can rotate the board with the arrow keys". You can do what with the WHAT? Whoah!

But then instead of a game of very careful planning and placement, it became just one where you spun the board until you got something you like for each and every tile. The other window has a game open at 301,000, and I think I could probably keep going forever.

Without the rotation, I think it might be a really good game.

iPhone users should check out the superior, and addictive, Drop7.

If you want more of a challenge, I highly recommend Blocksum (Windows download). I think it's the first time I've ever used "pulse-pounding," "intense," and "math" in the same sentence when describing a game. Unfortunately, it looks like the game's website is down at the moment.
