Not bad.

It's not bad for a dairy promotion site. The recipes look interesting enough that I'll probably make one or two of them.

That said, this could use the "recipe" tag.

Ok that was awesome. My girl is from Wisconsin and last year we took a trip up to her home town in Stevens Point. I've never had cheese so good, you can't buy cheese like that in Tennessee. looking at these burgers and knowing what I now know about Wisconsin cheddar all I can say is I miss America's Dairyland.

The voice has to be Patrick Warburton, voice of Brock Sampson. Which almost made me care enough about this site to deal with the ridiculous navigation. NOT MEATIST. TOTALLY VENTURIST. ESPECIALLY THE HENCHMEN

I find something very comforting and reassuring about Patrick Warburton. He just seems, I dunno, reliable and sturdy, like a Buick. In my imagination, he smells faintly of Old Spice and naps.

It occurs to me that I've spent way too much time thinking about Patrick Warburton.

Thanks for the link!

Blazecock Burgers (serves 4, maybe 2)
---
1 lb ground beef
1 shallot, coarsely diced
1 Tbsp wildflower honey
1 chipotle pepper, coarsely chopped, with 1 Tbsp adobo sauce

1. Bring ingredients together in mixing bowl until evenly distributed, but no more.
2. Form four equally sized patties
3. Place thumb indent in the middle of each patty
4. Place in fridge for 30 min

In the meantime, ready a very hot grill. Sear for 3 min on each side to get lines. Turn heat down to medium until patty is cooked evenly and is raised to 155 deg F. Add a thin slice of Gruyere or Emmentaler cheese, if desired, and let sit for five minutes. Serve on toasted sesame seed buns with a thick slice of heirloom tomato and desired condiments.

We make them every other week. It's a nice summertime treat. Of the canned chipotle peppers w/sauce, we tried Goya, La Morena and Embasa brands. The choice of chipotle pepper (and its accompanying sauce) can make or break the burger, though the beef and honey are equally important.

La Morena, in our view, was the best of the three — in terms of both overall taste and the right mix of sweet and smoky — though I have only been able to find that brand in Mexican grocers. But it's worth the hunt.

Foodporn is foodporn, but there is something about hamburger photography specifically that just seems to be extra hardcore. They show you everything in this clinical straight-on view. I guess this is just the nature of photographing hamburgers. They have to give you an impression of what it's like deep inside, even though you can only peer at the surface. So the subjects have everything totally hanging out, exposed to the world. Bacon distends out from the bun, lettuce leaves are splayed open like petticoat skirts. They won't just let you imagine a nice aoili in there, they have to show it to you dripping and oozing out of every crevice. If Bon Appétit is Playboy, then this site is definitely Hustler.

The "Uncle Sam" has mayo? WTF. That's socialism, for sure. Spanish-French socialism! God's own mustard made this country great. Why, I seem to recall reading (on a gum wrapper) that German was almost the official language of the US of A. Mayo? Bah!

Nonetheless - meat, cheese, Patrick Warburton, and really beautiful buns make a great linky. I'm very conservative about cheeseburgers, but don't mind seeing pictures of the kinky variations others enjoy...

Huh?!? What the hell California cheese have you been eating? We've got the multiple award winning Cowgirl Creamery and Fiscilini farmstead cheese co., Karoun Cheese which makes awesome string cheese, Pt. Reyes Blue, Boatloads of tasty chevre, A million kinds of jack cheese ( not my thing, but aged is good ), fresh and smoked mozzarella, marscapone, and a lot of very cheap but serviceable colby and cheddar in our supermarkets. Not that I don't love Cabot, Tillamook, Wisconsin and Michigan cheeses, but California cheeses rock.

Maybe two or three of those looked American. And almost all of them ruined by gobs of mayo or other sundry white sloppings. Nothing white belongs on a cheeseburger, boy, unless it's an onion.

Ignoring that though...sure does make me want a cheeseburger.
