This is the only level in the game and you will die a lot.

Got stuck on level 4. Elephant just rocks back and forth? Wth? Interesting concept though.

No, there are several levels. Or is another one of those the-kids-are-being-ironic-again things that I don't get?

If there's only one level, why am I stuck on Level 4?
posted by Sys Rq at 3:30 PM on August 8, 2009

Wasn't there another game posted awhile back just like this, except you had to win a bunch of hidden achievements? The level design seems very familiar.
posted by Rhaomi at 3:32 PM on August 8, 2009 [1 favorite]

Well, the layout and objective are always the same (the "level"), but the game presents a bunch of variations on that one theme ("stages"). I think it's pretty interesting.

(stage 4 hint: think outside the keyboard)

I'm stuck on Stage 15. Hmm.

I think 15 is the end. Or is it?
posted by Joey Michaels at 3:38 PM on August 8, 2009

15 is not the end. The text is actually very helpful.

I got stuck at 24 - I have a suspicion that my computer is lacking what I need to proceed.
posted by Tomorrowful at 3:42 PM on August 8, 2009

Oh, 15 is fairly obviously. ;)

Great game, I just wish it was a bit longer.

I got to the heavy headwinds stage (screen 11?) before I got tired of it and quit. Really a cute concept, though.

Nope, hit refresh on stage 15 like the man says.
posted by signalnine at 3:50 PM on August 8, 2009

Couldn't figure out stage 27, credit page. That was the only stage where the answer wasn't self-evident from the stage title.

Hehe, think again infinitewindow. It refers directly to the solution.

There are 30 stages to the one level. My stats: 11:03:02.5, Deaths: 61

Arrrgh! Thanks, splice.

Done, with an unspeakable number of deaths due to the #$%&ing candy stripe garbage at stage 8.
posted by betafilter at 4:12 PM on August 8, 2009

7:48, 42 deaths. These elephant games are awesome! Here's the first one (Achievement Unlocked). Nothing in the new game is as difficult or arbitrary as some of the puzzles in the first one. Or maybe because I played the first I knew what sorts of solutions to look for.

121 deaths, 30 stages completed.
posted by Midnight Rambler at 4:16 PM on August 8, 2009

For those of you who completed level 30. If you refresh, there's a level 31, with text "undefined" .. i don't think it's beatable though. Probably just a sick joke.
posted by alligatorman at 4:18 PM on August 8, 2009

er ... Stage 31, not Level.
posted by alligatorman at 4:19 PM on August 8, 2009

255 deaths to complete. About 230 of them on the "collapse" level. I mean stage. That one was nasty.

(Good find. Returning to this after dinner.)

Can you blow up the elephant? If you can't blow up the elephant, I don't want to play.

This was quite a cute game, better than most of the "never-ending" ones. I especially enjoy these rare things that reward reading directions and captions.

around 21 minutes and 191 deaths, but hey, that collapse level was awful.

Am I the only one for whom the menus were incredibly unresponsive? I had to click literally dozens of times to get a button to react (which made one of the levels... frustrating).

Only 31 deaths, though, which is pretty decent IMHO. Wish I'd noted down the time. 7:xx.xx, but from there? No idea.

As much as these kinda games are dumb, its like mind candy. Amusement without all the heavy lifting of "real" puzzle games, but you still have some feeling of accomlishment.

posted by mokeydraws at 10:11 AM on August 9, 2009

This game was awesome.

And the 'hit refresh' level was the only one that made me look at the walkthrough.

(Cool concept + design; and good on them for using cookies to know that I'd refreshed. Scared the crap out of me having to do that.)

I love the mouse control level, flinging corpses all over the map. Screw the progression, that level is enough :D
posted by Submiqent at 4:29 AM on August 10, 2009

16:23:22.5. 140 deaths, but a good number of those were because I couldn't figure out stage 24 for a while and said "maybe I have to kill off a whole bunch of elephants to get the gate to open."
posted by DevilsAdvocate at 3:03 PM on August 10, 2009

Finished with less lives and more time. I had to look at the walkthrough in order to beat the caps lock level, which I suspected, but was not going to go through un-mapping my keyboard in order to beat until I knew it was the answer. Relying on a dumb key.. :(

Also, for at least 2-3 stages after stage 4, I was able to move the 'phant with the mouse. Probably a bug.

Fun little game though.
