A Day Without Ceiling Cat Watching, Without Keyboard Cat Playing You Off

A Day Without Cats on the Internet Because why should all the fun on 09/09/09 be for Beatles fans, Apple geeks, 99-cent-store customers and post-apocalyptic steampunk ragdolls. Oh, and also President Obama. Is there anybody NOT doing something special on 09/09/09? Maybe... Satan? (long boring talk by nutcase about Large Hadron Collider and Nostrdamus)

Just for giggles, here's Yahoo Answers on the significance of the date. (OMG TERRISTS!!! )

So, this is something that to understand I would need to use both a base-10 counting system, and a calendar system that's heavily influenced by the duodecimal-counting babylonians.

This is so internally inconsistent I doubt it happens in real life.

For all the Beatles fans in the thread, right now VH1CR is showing a really incredible Beatles retrospective. It is the kind of show that reminds you how they rose above just about any other band in popular music, ever.

A Day Without Cats on the Internet

Unpossible. Inconceivable. No such thing.

That would be like a Day Without Porn on the Internet. Not gonna happen.

8/8/8, 9/9/9. I suppose 10/10/10 will be interesting but after 2012 dates are going to a lot less interesting. I mean yeah there will be things like 2/6/26 but that's just not the same.

Personally, I'm going to celebrate a Day Without the Beatles. Just like I celebrate every day.

However, I will post a picture of a cat an hour.

I forgot one 9/9/09 event that I actually think is worthwhile, the "BlameDrewsCancer.com" Blame-a-Thon (benefit for Livestrong and cancer research with attitude). Be there or get blamed!

Cats are stupid anyway.

after 2012 dates are going to be a lot less interesting.

So that's what the Mayan Calendar Effect is going to be! (besides forcing an ending to the story arc on Goats)

If we're going to get all Beatlesy, I highly (highly) recommend watching the Howard Goodall's episode on the Beatle's and the significance of their songwriting. It's on Youtube (first episode here - I'm sure you can find the rest) but doesn't seem to yet be available on DVD. I happened upon it one pleasant night when I still had a TV, and I found it totally fascinating. Interesting guy, actually. Could totally stand an FPP. Just saying...

I saw this and thought about posting it.

But then I decided it was too stupid to post.

And why would anyone want to spend a day without cats on the internet? That's just silly.

A Day Without Cats on the Internet

Man, I'm not even going to try to wrestle the keyboard and mouse away from my Siamese on the 9th. She's totally addicted to Craigslist and the people who give birds away for free.

Getting between her and her hobby can only lead to more pee in my shoes, and I just can't stand that.

I've been kinda hoping the terrorists would strike on 09/09/09 because I lost a lot of money betting that this would happen on 06/06/06 and maybe if I go to my local betting parlor and hold my ticket upside down it will finally pay off.

Jimi Hendrix rocks!

I live in Philly and I never heard of this blame-a-thon thing... what's the deal?

Basically, local geek and cool dude Drew gets cancer; starts a #blamedrewscancer meme on twitter - eg, "Jackass almost ran me over, I #blamedrewscancer." The blame-a-thon itself is on 9/9/09, when there's a 24 hour party (techncially two, at local coworking facility Indy Hall and up at the Northstar Bar, they pass off at noon.) It's gonna be kind of awesome, bands and the like, with the cash going to Livestrong.

I got mailed from a TX newspaper's pets columnist asking about sockington's "opinion" on this fake event created to generate traffic to urlesque.

I pointed out that a few hours out from the newspaper's city, there's 111 cats whose owner died and now they're trying to find homes:

http://www.blancocountycat.org/Glinnie.html

I expect not much of an answer back.

Fake event to generate real traffic, to try and make real money. Yawn.
