from Songs of the Bushmen
The Head of Alberto Gonzalez

I WAS LOYAL TO GEORGE BUSH, WHENEVER HE'D CALL.
EVEN IF HE WANTED NOTHING AT ALL.
I WAS LOYAL ON THE RISE, I WAS LOYAL ON THE FALL.
CAUSE EVEN I KNOW WHAT THE POINT OF THE FALL IS,
GIVE THE CRITICS THE HEAD, OF ALBERTO GONZALEZ.

the Geneva conventions I helped redefine.
calling them quaint, I think that quote was mine.
because certain detainees were over the line.
in the room with top lawyers, it's clear what the call is.
we need the legal head of Alberto Gonzalez.

THE FIRST HISPANIC, WAS A BADGE I'D WEAR WITH PRIDE.
IT GOT ME UPSTAIRS, AND IT GOT ME INSIDE

In Texas, George Bush named me to his supreme court.
could the big one be next? I'd sure need his support.
so my advice was always the most approving sort
if I wanted the robe, I'd give nothing but solace,
and let bush be the head of Alberto Gonzalez.

when we wanted to replace prosecutors with friends,
a big stupid hearing is where that trail ends
the truth doesn't break, but it certainly bends.
I gave an example of what total lack of recall is,
there's no memory in the head of Alberto Gonzalez.

THE FIRST HISPANIC, WAS A BADGE I'D WEAR WITH PRIDE.
IT GOT ME UPSTAIRS, AND IT GOT ME INSIDE

I'll spend time with my family, I'll spend time alone.
I'll sit by my computer, and I'll sit by my phone.
hoping my old friend will just throw me a bone.
even though I know how unlikely that call is.
so I'll just take back the head of Alberto Gonzalez.

Indeed. I thing the reason all the Glen Beck posts so fail to grab the bronze ring is because that Drudge parody has it firmly in hand and is running around with it laughing maniacally.

I don't remember, I don't recall
I got no memory of anything at all
I don't remember, I don't recall
I got no memory of anything
Anything at all

Oh my god, thank you for posting this. I know the extremely wonderful and talented people behind this project, and a certain someone has been trying to get me banhammered from this site via posting this link on the Blue for weeks. It's been excruciating, just because it's such an innovative creation by Melissa, she's worked incredibly hard on making this happen, and deserves every bit of attention it brings her. They've been trying their best to get press attention, so hopefully now they'll sell out the shows and be convinced to sell CDs through the website.

Folks should also note that the promo poster is by Molly Crabapple and should be (?) available at the show.

See Matt, it happened eventually, and it only took Rachel Maddow to make it happen.

So ... is it ... is it OK if I post here to say thank you or is that bad etiquette?

Warn us before we link to the frookin' Drudge report! Some of us don't wanna give the guy any more hits than he already gets.

This is terrific.
I mean, this is why I come to the blue.
Thanks, mormolyke for composing it and netbors for posting.

Sick of this kind of cutesy BS from so-called progressives - there's nothing nothing funny about Alberto Gonzales.

ryanshepard,

I don't think making a dreadful human being into a subject of satire minimizes the nature of his acts. Beyond being very clever, I think this will serve to educate some people who may not read the Nation, but who do appreciate a good skewering. I can't buy into the notion that being outraged means I must also be humorless.

Absolutely brilliant site design. Speechless.

The funniest thing about Alberto Gonzales is that he STILL doesn't realize that he was never part of the "boy's club" at all; he was always just "the help".

I wonder if that hearing would autotune well.

Congress and the courts are doing nothing, and the press has moved on to discussing the point of view of gun-toting retards on health care.

Memorializing the corruption and incompetence of the Bush era "Justice" department is all that is left to those who care.

Shit, I didn't even know Morm posted here! Anyway, this is awesome and it's something Mormolyke should be proud of.
