The Commons' Photostream

The Commons' Photostream from the National Library of New Zealand is a collection of late 19th and early 20th century photography. Includes a selection of stereographs from the collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library, Wellington-based photographer William Hall Raine, and panoramas of New Zealand from Robert Percy Moore. There is lots, lots more, and the NLNZ is continuing to update regularly.

While visiting the National Library (previously) don't miss Papers Past, containing more than one million pages of digitized New Zealand newspapers and periodicals from the years 1839 to 1932.

Thanks. The panoramas are particularly nice.

I love posts like this, even if my personal track record of checking back on these kinds of sites is pretty bad. I wish that posts like this got more comments. I think that there's a set of people who like them, but don't comment for whatever reason. I'm glad that favorites is another metric to use in determining whether or not people are interested.

NLNZ are also on Twitter, and make "tea break tweets" with links to cool stuff from their online collections twice a day.
