Where's the weather section? I was expecting to find out that it was slightly creepy, with a chance of BRAAAAAIINNNNNS!

TEENAGE MONSTER DANCE PARTY!

Sorry, that phrase has been in my head all day for some reason. My apologies.

I thought zombies were the new pirates. Although I'm not sure where that leaves the ninjas.

We just have to keep them from joining forces. A zombie on a chain (or say, thrown onto an enmie ship) would be a fine addition to a pirate crew. It's not like they'd have qualms about being it chained up. Vampires and Ninjas have a shared love of stealth and moonlight, if they share throwing stars tips we're done for.

Don't get me started on the Undead Money Pirate King.

The Whelk, you just reminded me of MAD MONSTER PARTY(?), form the same pre-clamation 3-d animators who did Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (with voice stars Boris Karloff and Phyllis Diller). A classic case of "What could possibly go right?"

clamation? I meant pre-CLAYmation... well, at least I didn't call Morton Downey Jr. Jewish...

Hmm. A careful survey of Archie McFee leads me to believe that an absinthe flavoured sasquatch made out of bacon might be the next big thing.

Zombie World News

Geez. Do we have to keep linking to FOX?

We need a West Side Story-style duel between zombie and vampire Internet memes, with star-crossed lovers showing that they can have hate, too, against the backdrop of a flame war.

ZombieWorldNews.com is a fictitious news site. It is an experiment in real world naration, encouraging reader input to affect the developing news reports.
...
Through editorials and reader participation we are exploring the social, political and economic impact such an event would have on humankind.
This sort of phrasing really grates. The authors sound as though they think they're getting involved in some kind of Grand Participatory Project Made Possible By The Internet, rather than admitting that they run a humor site that accepts user contributions.

Kinda fun but I don't think I'll even find a piece of zombie media as good as World War Z, because that was just all sorts of awesome.

io9 hopes Yetis are the next Vampires, with news of Sam Raimi's film Refuge from Hollywood Reporter. Sadly, vampires are not going away yet, as Raimi is also slated to make a vampire comic book adaptation "Priest." Furthermore, there's a World of Warcraft movie on the works from Raimi. You have been warned.

I love the idea behind this, but zombies are played out. Too many trips to the well. Same with vampires and werewolves. They all need to be put in a cool dry place for a decade or so, allowed to regenerate in the mind of the public. What we need right now are some righteous mutations, some ghastly alien infestations w/ carbuncles and tentacles. Some oozing boils and hatching parasitic spawn would hit the spot just about now.

And a pizza. Long live the new flesh.

metagnathous, I am concerned for you that your interest in "oozing boils and hatching parasitic spawn" leads into a longing for pizza. Perhaps you should try food made of less processed parts? Or at least try a veggie pizza, they can be delicious.

It's a great idea but the writing and general execution of this site is horrendous. If they'd put a little more effort into it, it really could have taken off. Too bad :/

Zombie Riff (sings):
When you're undead
You're not dead all the way
From your first oozing boil
To putrescent decay...
