I liked the prices best - 10¢ for a bar of Lux soap, 75¢ for mascara, 60¢ for a months supply of Murine. Unfortunately, salaries were commensurate

The really amazing thing about ads from this era is how wordy they are. So much text. Imagine asking today's semiliterate--excuse me, I mean postliterate--consumer to read that much to convince them to buy your product.
