There certainly are some cool things in their, but there is no way in hell that they'll ever be able to convince me to watch 1 hour and 20 minute long Wave presentation. No matter how hard they beg.

So Google is officially admitting that, out of umpteen million videos hosted on YouTube, only 87 are cool? It's about time.

Okaywoahholyfuck. Okay, so, I was clicking through that trying to figure out what I was supposed to be looking at. I come to the mosaic of pogo's alice video and thought "oh NEAT, I totally forgot about this". So I clicked. Fullscreened.

And watched.

And Stared.

It's hypnotic. I'm kind of tired to, so with all the shifting boxes my eyes didn't really want to cope, and just defocused and blurred out a bit. I sat through it once, and it started over. I leaned over.

Holy crap. 3D eye awesomeness. Suddenly it was clear, and more vivid. I just kept staring. And staring. And Staring. Then I bobbed my head and it moved wrong.

You know what, between the miniature ferrari and a youtube cluster achieving criticality in my brain I think I've overdosed on awesome and need to go to bed. Maybe I'll figure out what the hell this is in the morning.

Regardless, thank you for the post. I might retract that after the dreams I'm sure will ensue.

So is this stuff that Google thinks is cool, or that Advertising Week thinks is cool?

Is this something I'd have to read through an 87-page PowerPoint presentation written by marketing weenies to understand?

What's Meta-cool is this GDocs presentation tool that I was unaware of.
posted by tybeet at 7:42 AM on October 17, 2009

I'm a total loser because:

a) I more excited about the potential for presentation and link embedability in gdocs than any of the links other than the

b) WoW Google maps mashup, which is pretty damn cool

c) but is also lame because there's no directions or street view.

(Of course, directions should simply say:

1. Lift fat ass from chair.
2. Go outside

Dear people who made this,

DON'T SAY "COMPRISED OF"

Thanks, English

«The unconventional usage of comprise has been fairly common since the 18th century. [...] ... yet Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary warns that if you use the unconventional form of comprise, "you may be subject to criticism for doing so." [...] For now, the decision regarding this inflammatory expression is a personal one, but one that must be made. Take your time. Mull it over. Like so many things in life, you can't have your comprise both ways. Either you comprise, or you are comprised of. Until we have a government-sanctioned organization to determine standards and punish violators, this problem and many more like it will continue to stifle our conversations and our nation's social progress.»

It would be cool if I could actually read all the text on the slides.

The text is too big for your computer?

The text didn't fit in my computer either, it kept falling out onto my desk. Sometimes computing is messy...

Interestingly enough, early MeFi:tes did in fact review the original talk.
