At this time of year it's nice to reminisce about all of the great holidays past, or if your family is anything like mine you'll be celebrating Hellidays instead.

Those stories are all pretty lame, save for the one about "Daddy's dog."

Some of those stories are a little wordy. Will not "read more" to fish for a good story.

They're kind of serious about that Hellidays thing, huh? I was expecting to find funny in retrospect stories, but these are mostly sad, traumatizing or self-involved or boring.

I think I will satisfy my need for funny in retrospect holiday stories with this Thanksgiving pie fight from JJGo!

(10 minutes in Jordan and Jesse discuss their own holiday nonsense, listener submitted holiday stories at 24 minutes, pie fight story appears at ~50:00)

Writing style seems remarkably similar in many of the stories.

I anticipate that the stories people post in this thread will be much better. I'm looking forward to reading them.

This looked promising, but I have to agree that most are so awkwardly written that they're not worth reading.

Might be better once they get a larger archive with more writers.

Gawker also has a list of holiday horror stories, but they are all travel related.

FML was probably like this on its first day, too. I expect it's just early. A lot of peoples' best stories are holiday disasters, so the concept seems sound enough.
