huh, I didn't even notice it, though I've always wondered how he does those bits where he's supposed to be his own cousin with the beard shaved off. I suppose it's all timing.

I was wondering how they were able to cover his beard during that sketch. I thought it might be akin to an actor wearing a "bald cap." They fooled me.

For those not in the US: He shaves off his beard backstage for a skit, then puts on a fake one for what seems like no reason for the goodbye part.

I watched the whole show on Hulu (well, skipped through most of it, but saw the beginning of all the sketches at least) and didn't see the skit where he showed up sans beard. Did they cut that from the Hulu version?

I apologize for my sloppiness. I should have done five minutes more work and found something that worked.
As far as I know, those torrents I linked to still work. Also, there are some very cheap VPNs that were established after the hotspotshield blocking that appear to still be functioning. They are discussed here: hotspot-shield-alternatives.
The most recent link goes to a pay-vpn service and is from February 2010, i.e. they're not all free.
Also, if you're grabbing torrents, I prefer Vuze to Utorrent, as Utorrent served as a conduit for a trojan virus exploit for my wife's laptop.
EZTV also links mainly to torrents of television programs.

In more detail, for the excluded: He walks quickly to a bathroom, stands at the sink, and shaves with clippers as a blond streaked bouffant wig is placed on him, puts on a tacky white dinner jacket, and walks back, pushing past the various hangers-around and is seen standing on the set before the cameras, where we cannot hear the action going on. Later, he dons an imitation beard and joins the crowd milling onstage for the closing.
exciting! edgy! I hope he later shaved properly, and moisturized.

Zach's beard is one of my favorite things. I was sorry to see it go, but 1) it's good to see he's still handsome under all that fabulous fur, and 2) I know it will be grown back starting, well, immediately.

Additionally, isn't Vuze now bloated-as-hell software? I double utorrent for Windows, prefer Transmission on OSX, and rtorrent in Linux.

Any torrent client can download something with a virus. Looking around, it looks like 1.6 had an exploit, but obviously that's been fixed. Lots of internet facing software has had exploits, Firefox, acrobat, flash, etc.

There's another video of him randomly popping up in "scenes" from other NBC shows like "30 Rock" which is supposed to be high-larious but seems to me just another excuse for NBC to cross-market its crappy shows.

I really believe that Zach is the closest thing going these days to Andy Kaufman, and that's not a bad thing. in my opinion

He's an amazing comedian, all right. Sometimes I feel like he does too many hipsterish inside jokes, but he's obviously incredibly intelligent, and has this sort of physical grace to the physical comedy he does. He's best when he's very subtle, which is why his man-child performance in the Hangover grated me.
This clip I think shows him at his best - a music video of Anita Baker's "You Bring me Joy". Alotta love in this.
