The outfits reminded me of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.
They didn't perhaps remind you of Star Wars?

I'm prety sure Joe Beese meant the costumes the dancers were wearing, which do look kind of like that. Vader, C3-P0 and a Big Brother are in the audience.

This makes me inexplicably happy. I want to go home and watch Flash Gordon now.

They're about four kids short of a Brady.

I don't think this is incomprehensible at all. After all, we're entertained by it. Were people in 1979 really so different?

1979? nobody was alive then!

This had to exist. To pave the way for Megaforce, which is only the greatest movie ever.

That's the italian intro theme to the Grendizer toon (locally known as Goldrake).

I'm just waiting for the RotoloRoll, personally.

This is not "performing," this is lip-synching combined with convulsing.

AHH you best me to the Boney M post. Great song.

Heh. Fun fact: The sure sign that the party is about to end at the after hours locale is when the DJ starts spinning all of the popular Italian cartoon theme songs. Imagine a room full of people in high heels and artfully tight jeans dancing to the Smurfs or the Gummi Bears theme songs.

Heidi is usually the signal that the lights are about to come up and you'll be pushed out the door shortly.
