Point and click and point and point and click

Hetherdale is a full scale point and click adventure, for free. Don't forget to use the map option when it arrives in order to travel faster.

Also - a bit of a large load initially, but once it gets there it's quite well constructed.

This is really nice. I'm not very good at point-and-click but it links to walkthrough videos to nudge me in the right direction whenever I start clicking aimlessly.

OK, where the hell do I get the shell?

The shell is by the deep ditch on the side with the wall you have to climb.

Kind of stuck. I can't get Day 2 to happen.

Hmm, pretty fun. I'm not a fan of the story and ending though.

Is it wrong that I keep hoping the natives are gonna go all Cannibal Holocaust on the archaeologists?

:( I finished it and I was not very happy with the ending. 'twas was sad.

Took forever to load, then it froze.

The walkthrough advises me to take my axe to a bush with blue flowers. However, the bush is not a selectable item for me. Arg.

(A drawback of video walkthroughs: you can't search or even scan through them. Video and audio in general are much dispreferred compared to text.)

Ah, I see. You have to examine the plume first.

The folk at escapegames24 usually have text walkthroughs for any given web point'n'click before I've even woken up. There's one for Hetherdale here, if the video is too annoying.

(I'm not a member of that site, and consider its interface an ugly blight on the face of the web, but damned if they don't write up walkthroughs toot sweet).

Scroll past the videos for the text walkthrough.

I haven't reached the ending yet, but the improbable WWII-era jungle archeology setting gives off a nice happy Zack McKracken/Indiana Jones vibe I'm really enjoying. Is anybody working on an FPP about how point-and-click is still with us, and there's tons of good stuff out there? Looks like I'm going to be done with this one by tomorrow, I'm gonna need more.

Well, that was fun, but I don't understand what happened at the end. Why did she end up where she did? Is it because of Lord whats-his-name? I'm ok with the ending, but my son (9) is concerned.

sneebler, I sent you my take via MeMail to avoid posting spoilers in the thread.

Any way I could get a copy of that memail too? That ending kinda threw me for a loop.

Yay female protagonist! Boo skimpy clothing! Still it's a fun game (not really that bothered :) ). I found the ending sad and confusing as well.

Heartily seconded.
