The demolition of the Dallas Cowboys' Texas Stadium [previously], in panoramic 360-degree video, from the 50-yard line. That is all.

And that is amazing. Are there more videos like this anywhere? The full panoramic view that is?

If you just stand completely still right in the center, I think you'll be fine.

If you look up and to the right about 45 degrees, you can see the truss beam as it falls into the camera.

Q: Why did they put a hole in the roof of Texas Stadium?
A: So God could watch the Cowboys play.

Q: Why did they eventually demolish Texas Stadium?
A: Because God decided he'd rather stare at dirt.

I guess they sure do know how to set up them the bomb down there in Texas.

This RAWKS. I watched more than a few videos of the implosion on YouTube after it happened, but never dreamed I'd see anything as cool as video from inside the stadium. And a scrollable 360° panorama??? Never in my wildest imagination.

I approve of this use of technology and encourage more of the same.

Immersive Media makes those sorts of 360 degree videos. They recently fired my sister, who is pretty good at editing those things.
Bastards. With cool videos.

Usually when buildings are brought down this way they sequence the explosions. That was the case with the KingDome. But from start to finish is usually only a few seconds. When I first saw the implosion of this one, I was surprised by how slow it was. I wonder why they did that? (They clearly had good reason; the result justifies that. But I do wonder what the point was.)

The Cowboys aren't even in my division, but that was fantastic. Would have been better if there'd been a scrimmage between the Cowboys and Packers at the time.

Sadly, the new one already in place will continue to inflict Jerry Jones on the world for as long as he lives. Everyone always talks about Al Davis and his deal with the devil, but he's starting to age (rapidly). Jones is the one who looks positively satanic.

While I'm a sucker for pure, giant explosive power, there is something inherently beautiful about controlled demolition. A series of charges, scattered throughout at strategic locations, the weight of the structure, and our friend gravity.
