Ha. Awesome.

But it sounds like they're hitting the enter key at the end of every sentence. To me, that sounds more like IM than work.

This won't work, I have an M-Model keyboard :/

and I'm unemployed, but that's beside the point

Then you have time to hook it up to Model M Keyboard Simulator.

To prove how much more productive you are than any of your co-workers, you should play it REALLY LOUD. Also, leave it on during your lunch break.

I found this gem in the FAQ:
Last but not least, your IT dept may have a tight sphincter. Asking them may not have a positive outcome.

I used to have a Mac extension that made sounds like a manual typewriter, and every time I hit enter, it simulated the carriage racing across ("zzzz") and hitting the bell ("DING!"). The spacebar made a satisfying "thunk" as well.

It's a good thing my office mate was deaf.

Oh my god, Ella, typewriter keyboard for mac is the best thing EVER! So tappy! So productive sounding! It also makes me extra self conscious about backspaces, so I type more carefully! LOVE IT!

This is the start of a great practical joke involving a roommate, some ghost stories, and a script to start it up at 3am.

Thank you for this... it brought tears to my eyes. I loved and still miss my clicky keyboard!

It's tempting to hack into there and configure it where after 4 minutes of activity it starts streaming random audio from YouPorn.

You know what I miss about the Model M? I sit here with my feet up on my desk... the M had enough weight to it that when I used it on my lap it wouldn't slosh all over the place with each keystroke. That sucker felt like the interface to real MACHINERY, like I imagined an old Linotype machine keyboard felt. ETAOIN SHRDLU!

Invite your friends over to spill beer on your laptop keyboard. Instant clicky keyboard!

In case anyone here doesn't know, the company that designed the Model M for IBM is still selling keyboards here. You can special-order keys on them, hence, Model M for Mac. I've been coveting this for awhile now.

For all the Mac users feeling left out of the Model-M love, I present to you, the Apple Extended Keyboard II. Just clicky enough, with a rainbow apple logo in the corner. Hook it up to a Griffin iMate ADB to USB adapter, and you're back in clicky-town, my friend!

Due to its heft, it also doubles as a blunt weapon.

Mine is still going strong, 20 years later.
