Man, I love this band so much. I used to work at a punk rock boutique, and one of my coworkers -- the (stand-up) bassist of a psychobilly band -- turned me onto them. I expected more of the sort of stuff he liked; another band sounding like the Meteors or King Kurt or something, but no. Pure Russian surf insanity coming out of the speakers.

I can't recommend Crazy Price any higher. It's a life-changing album. And the samples of the Russian dub of the French Fantomas movies makes it all the more awesome. Thanks for this post!

Ohhh yeah I ran across these guys poking around at cover songs on Youtube at 3 am one time. I think I linked to it before around here some time ago but it's obviously extra appropriate now.

Here they are covering "Stigmata".

How the hell did I miss this band? This is so cool.

Here's a Leningrad Cowboys for you. Not the same sound, but sort of the same spirit.

I found out about this band when I was looking for something similar to Man or Astroman. I love how wacky surf-ish bands can get.

I just got hip to these lunatics off of a MeFi swap CD (Space Cat Mix - don't have it handy and I can't recall the author but thanks for putting SuperSonik Bibrator on there) - the Crazy Price album is absolutely worth picking up.

Yes! They are great. I saw messerchups opening for They Might Be Giants many years ago (2002?). One of those few times that I went and bought the CD of the opening band. Their videos are exactly what I would have expected. Great!

I hear some early Dead Kennedys influence in there. Totally in love.

Hah, wow, don't miss this Herman and Addams remix (is it just me, or did it always seem like the Addamses were all having sex together? Or just about to?)
