I saw this yesterday and I'm still speechless.

I liked the guy who had his eyes closed whenever he was on camera.

I laughed at this comment on the YT page:

"The creators of pokemon need to create a movie that caters to thier older fans, I was seven when pokemon first came out nad now im 19. Pokemon now, is a steaming pile of dog shit. Nothing compared to the way it use to be. Season 1 was EPIC!!!"

You're 19? Nope - time to grow up and walk away. And maybe consider finishing school.

My ten year-old stepson is about all things Pokémon and I'm weary of the whole thing. This video is pretty funny, but I only watched it because I was scared shitless there was a legitimate live-action Pokémon film that I'd have to either succumb to or put the kibosh on, based on content.

I still firmly believe that a live-action Pokemon movie could be awesome.

Could.

god, I'm trying to imagine myself at 19 being like "Voltron nowadays is BULLSHIT! That series needs to grow up with my generation!" I am really.... REALLY happy I didn't turn into anything like the older pokemon obsessives. Or maybe I should say that I managed to be born before what seems to have been Japan's real heyday of cartoon addiction. I'm lucky I grew up with Transformers and Voltron instead of Dragonball Z, pokemon, naruto, inuyasha and the other weirdly addictive more recent japanese kids shows.

I can't decide if this is exactly the kind of thinking that brought us the Transformers live action film or exactly the kind of thinking that would have prevented it.

Regardless ... my point is just that if we can get a scene with Charizard incinerating Michael Bay, I'd buy a ticket.

According to a friend, the total is now well over 600 with the new Black and White releases in Japan...goddamn.

Don't forget this, even closer to home. And yeah, that's a real movie. That they actually made.

Haha my son is going to love this. He struggled with it for a while, but at 16 has truly embraced his inner geek. His nostalgia for Pokemon is like normal people's my nostalgia for Legos.

Shouldn't that be Obsidian and...I dunno, some white mineral/gem? I guess they've run through most of the obvious ones already...

Are these the same folks that did that ominous Mushroom Kingdom series a while back? Totally reminds me of the same, but with much better special effects.

I'm lucky I grew up with Transformers and Voltron instead of Dragonball Z, pokemon, naruto, inuyasha and the other weirdly addictive more recent japanese kids shows.

I used to proudly say that I'm glad I grew up with The Smurfs. Used to.

I laughed out loud at the "I choose you" part. I grew up with Pokemon -- the first and second generation games were really good. The latest one just seem to have way too pokemon (like feature bloat), but I'd be curious to find out what kids playing them today think. If in 10 years they'll be like "What?! A million pokemon? I remember when there were only 500!"

Once, before I knew any better, I did a whole lot of Pokemon cosplay at anime conventions. The formula was simple: typical encounter between Team Ash and Team Rocket, do a big reveal that James was sleeping with everyone, use the show's catchphrases in filthy ways, finish with geeky joke. Everyone laughed. Everyone had a good time.

It was great. We got to make fun of a show most anime fans despised but secretly loved and I got to announce to a room of a few hundred people that I was available for shenanigans. Yes, trolling for tail at an anime convention dressed as a character from a children's cartoon show. It is a wonder I am in a relationship at all.

Man, could have been so much better. Needed to be about a minute 30 shorter with better music, cutting out all of the long lingering looks and more people lighting cigars off Pokemon flames.

I liked it when they like repeated the catchphrases from like the old series. But they were all like adult themes. Like when Ash said "I Choose You". But Ash was saying it to Misty LOL. And he was like, KISSING her.
