Even as a regular web surfer of the weird with a jaded "seen-it-all" cynicism, the Blort continuously reminds me that there is always even weirder stuff out there to be sampled.

nickyskye, thank you for this post. Ha, I was updating blort and noted quite a few visitors. So glad we cleaned the house! What a kick to get posted on mefi, thank you. And thanks for all the kind words and well wishes in thread. Can't think of anybody I would rather have at any birthday party than my mefi pals from whom I have gained so much. Cake and champagne all round!
quonsar told me he would be off to a wedding tonight - presumably not his own -- so he will be tickled when he is back. Blort is really his vision and his baby, he's just very generously let me be a squatter. And it it weren't for blort, I'd probably never have joined mefi, so full circle.

One of the best sites on the web, and source of at least a couple of my own posts at Metafilter. And mjjj is always worth reading here, and quonsar is really missed. Congratulations!

I pondered posting this last night when I first heard about it (Miss Cellania of Neatorama pointed to Presurfer's anniversary who pointed to Blort; MY internet has lots of fun names), but chickened out and just MetaChatted it.

Icelandic landscapes, Japanese postcard art, a video about a 19th century robot, a 1960s blues singer, a make-your-own monster app, Richard Nixon family photos, etc., etc., ... all remind you of your high school art department?
