YouTube user Pallomember loves scary European death metal. But sometimes he wonders, wouldn't scary European death metal be improved with a dash of Lady Gaga?

Yes. Yes it would.

See - *this* is what I envisioned that my Lady Gaga/Watain playlist in Pandora would sound like.

I love all of these. Thank you.

Aaaah! Hearing Madonna sing over that breakdown riff from Corporeal Quandary Jigsore freaked me out!

Awesome, though.

I'm sorry, but to me it just sounds like a radio stuck between two stations.

Opeth is about as scary as a teddy bear propped beside a bubblebath. And no, not an old tattered teddy bear missing an eye and matted with what might be dried blood. A cheerful, innocent teddy bear, perhaps with a heart-shaped doily on its furry little chest. That smells of cinnamon. And no, the tub isn't filled with blood or bile or creepy greenish-black ichor or anything like that. It's filled with normal water warmed two degrees too high, so that by the time you've put in a bit of scented oil and lit the sandalwood-scented candles ringing the edge and stirred in the bubbles it'll be juuuust right.

That's how scary Opeth is.

Sorry.

Calgon took me away.

Not much of an Opeth fan, but who says they're scary? They're a heavy prog rock band and aware of that.

@ Clay201 "to me it just sounds like a radio stuck between two stations."

Yes! That is exactly its magic. Just imagine *three stations*, etc.

I've been a lurker for a while, but I had to sign up when I saw this post. I've been obsessed with the Bleed/Paparazzi juxtaposition for months now. The way the verse riff syncs up with the dreamy singing is eerie, and the polytonality at the chorus gives me chills. It's almost heavier than the original. Of course, Pallomember had to chop the song up to make it work, but goddamn it works.

I force everyone I know who likes Lady Gaga to listen to it.

...because Meshuggah is *actually* scary.

I've been listening to these for a while too. I made all of my hardcore friends listen to Bleed-A-Razzi. I also made my Lady Gaga-loving girlfriend listen to it, which is why she's now my ex-girlfriend. Can't win them all.

All of which is in service to say, welcome, Existential Dread. May your stay be long and fruitful.

Also, why are people arguing about Opeth when they should be bowing down pledging their lives in service to motherfucking Meshuggah?

Lady Gaga vs Metallica

clavdivs, they're only ok, but here you go.

Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce vs Metallica - Enter Telephone (DJ from Mars)
Lady Gaga vs Metallica - Fuel Dance Mashup

Also, why are people arguing about Opeth when they should be bowing down pledging their lives in service to motherfucking Meshuggah?

koeselitz, I have a present for you. Tomas Haake's calves died to bring you this gift.

This reminds me of I Set My Friends On Fire. Better song. But I'm stuck in 2008.

Best one so far has been the Madonna versus Carcass track. All of these are just reminding me how little bass is in so much modern metal. It takes more than a double kick to be heavy, guys!

The Gaga over Sandman is also pretty nice.

Awesome. Sent the link to Gaga/Behemoth to my son, who will now think I am The. Coolest. Mom. Ever. Thanks!

Agreed. Most enjoyable. It's one of the few mashups I've heard that sounds better than either of its original components.

Damn, I forgot about that Bjork/Carcass collaboration. Almost as weird, Entombed performs with the Stockholm Royal Ballet.

Were I to pick a metal band to perform with ballet.....it probably wouldn't be Entombed.

Holy shit! Not my favorite era of Entombed, but they played the freakin' Grammys? With the Royal Ballet?! What isn't better in Sweden?
