Looks to be a form of gouaches decoupes or paper cutouts, popular with Matisse in his later years, and in traditional Japanese art, where it is known as 切り絵, or kirie. I really like the account sheets full of emptiness.

She must've gone through a helluva lot of xacto blades to keep them sharp enough to do the ledgers without tearing.
