The Blindness of the Woods (NSFW -- yarn puppet people engaged in adult activities) is a short film from Amautalab.

Though the audio is in Swedish (with English subtitles), the film was actually produced in Buenos Aires. Interview with studio founders. For those looking for something worksafe, try Wild Nature: Little Silver Crocodile.

Now I know what happened to Masturbating Bear after Conan let him go from Late Night.

By "yarn puppet people" you mean: people in full size yarn puppet suits. Didn't see that coming.

yeah, this went from slow and boring to slow and creepy for me....

This isn't some sort of viral marketing for Woolite, is it?

This made its way around knitting circles awhile ago. It is just as weird now as is was then.

I'd seen this earlier and was trying to forget it. I don't even have to see it again to be pretty sure it scarred me for life the first time.

I loved it! This was very well done. Thank you for the link!

The first, er, genre shift was appropriately sudden and really well done. Once I knew the conceit, though, I kind of lost interest as the novelty petered out. So to speak.

I thought it was an amusing little yarn...

odd and creepy. Interesting for the first few seconds until it was clear that these were humans in yarn suits, not little stop action animation creatures. Meh.

I was waiting for the scene where the woodspuppetman had to re-knit his knees.

I wonder if the little knitted birds were real birds stuffed into little bird suits, because, if so... points for creativity, massive points off for cruelty. Birds do not like to wear suits.

I was waiting for the scene where the woodspuppetman had to re-knit his knees.

Actually, considering the way wool yarn behaves, it's more likely the friction would have caused his knees to felt. So he'd have brand-new kneecaps rather than fraying. So if he used wool yarn, he'd be all set.

Hey, knitters! Yet another advantage to wool yarn -- your handmade sex costume won't fray!

...And if you've ever felt your worn knees, you know how painful that can be!

How the hell do you pitch this idea with a straight face?

I don't think the people at Cute Porn Productions know what "cute" means.

God, porn actors look more and more artificial all the time!

The intersection between "cute" and "porn" rarely ends well.

When I first started watching I was not that interested in yarn, but then as I watched a little more I became more interested in yarn. I continued to be pretty interested in yarn, and then even a little more interested in yarn, and then after a few more minutes I became REALLY INTERESTED IN YARN. Shortly thereafter I lost all interest in yarn whatsoever.

Not to be dismissive [hah, The Disclaimer makes it's entry], but the open air scenes wouldn't work at all up there in the woods of Kiruna. In the winter you'd freeze your parts off before you could say "later", and in the summer you'd be covered in blood-sucking insects before your pants are down. Mid-July nighttime mini golf in northern Michigan is like a joke compared to what the insects have in store for humans north of the polar circle, during the summer.
So in a way this video only works because the people are made of wool.
