This guy I know is walking around the world. He's just done Iran. Here's what he's got to say about it.

A great read. I find it particularly significant that someone walking from town to town in Iran is considered up to no good; that's exactly the response in most of the United States.

Is there a central place to keep up with his journey? Is that all he's written so far?

That is so true, and can lead to serious trouble. Brian Dennehy should have left Rambo alone.

Wow, that was hypnotic. I'm stealing it for my blog!

...wasn't there someone that wanted to walk across the US, but got mugged and thrown off a bridge?

Rambo climbs back up to bridge after mugging and throwing are done.

My mate John cycled from Istanbul to Tehran a couple of years ago. He received nothing but hospitality from the people he met: almost certainly because they regarded him as utterly insane. But still, I'm jealous: he said that the most astonishing thing was to be in a country where people didn't know what Coca Cola was. [Hence, they gave him water ;) ]

Excellent story. Iran is definitely one of the places I most want to visit. Does anyone know what the rest of his route is supposed to look like?

Dude, if he's looking to walk around the world, he's gonna be so pissed when he realizes the land bridge from Asia to North America is long gone...

Haven't spoken to him for a while (obviously); I imagine he'll write a book about it when he's finished though. Perhaps some more pieces in the London Review, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
