Super style simply strikes you? Jeweler nOir teamed up with DC Comics for a line of sparkly Superhero accessories. Wear Gotham city as a ring or just beat Diana at her own game.

(Most of) these things are so fucking gorgeous. I fidget/play with jewelry too much to wear it but god damn nOir stuff in general makes me want to fix that.

I want a Green Lantern ring. (One that works!)

Maybe this is enough to convince marvel to make decent Xaiver School pins....

There's a dive comic bar down the block from me. NYC MeFites: who wants to get drunk with me there? You can wear whatever jewelry you want.

I am wearing one of their spiky hedgehog rings RIGHT NOW!
I have already been through 2 snake rings.
Word to the wise, they are awesome and beautiful but don't hold up. The stones fall out (I now coat mine with superglue before wearing) and the glazing isn't very good so the copper base comes through pretty quickly and turns your fingers green.
Still, great designs.

D'oh, forgot — it's called Gotham City Limits.

Also they have sample sales 2x/yr which is the only reason I keep buying bc otherwise I think they are too pricey. WHO WANTS TO GO SHOPPING?

When's the next sample sale?

Weird. I've seen about half of these nOir designs during my undergrad metalsmithing years. Made by students, I mean.Granted, it was one of the best (one of the only, actually) metalsmithing programs in the US, so I don't know what that means for me, my classmates, or nOir.

Everyone I know gets mugged in Bushwick.

Although Gotham City Limits was a big art/comic hangout back when people I knew lived there.

It's a small small scene after all.

...so I don't know what that means for me, my classmates, or nOir.

My metalsmith friends regularly sell their jewelry designs to companies like nOir to be sold under the purchasing company's name. Is that irregular?

That's some of the coolest jewelry I've ever seen. I mean the Brooklyn Bridge ring? Fucking sweet!

Excellent use of alliteration.

No, not at all. Judging from their facebook feeds, though, I highly doubt that my former classmates have been selling their designs to nOir, and I don't think nOir is stealing undergrads' designs, either. It's far more likely to me that all of them are simply pretty obvious things to make for ironically low design jewelry.

I think that Gotham City ring would be great for self-defense.

So, Noir is now the abbreviation for "conspicuous consumption?" Seriously ugly bling there.

Criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot, so my accessories must be able to strike terror into their hearts. I shall become... a fop.

Yeah, Splunge. Or, more simply: "the place with Batman and Superman mounted on the front."

I have desperately wanted duplicates of the cuff links Dr. Manhattan wears in The Watchmen. My fiance tried to have some made for me but they didn't really work out.

I was pretty excited when I saw this, because I like getting jewelry for my wife, and some of this stuff is kind of neat looking, but the prices are downright silly. And for what you are spending, to not get real metal or real stones or design worth a shit, and apparently in terrible build quality?

Neat to look at online, but not subject to serious consideration.

I really want to like these more than I do. I'm not even that put off by the prices (I don't have money right now anyway, so anything that's more than $5 is expensive) but I don't feel as charmed as I want to.

I am, however, desperately drooling over TomTom's TRON-inspired jewelry although it's really unlikely I'll ever own any of it. And I do still love my Karin Jacobson ring that makes me feel like a superheroine every day. So I totally welcome more of this kind of thing even if the nOir stuff doesn't quite do it for me.

but the prices are downright silly.

That's kind of how I feel, but I also know retail prices are basically smoke and magic considering the number of sample sales, second-hand deals and factory offloads places like these do.Like I like some Kenneth Cole or Calvin Klein stuff, but I don't think I've ever paid more than 30 bucks per item for anything from them cause that's closer to the actual cost of the product in terms of quality and construction.

Listen to your grandma! Retail is for suckers.

You might be better off just commissioning stuff paisley henosis, much closer to actual dollar for value price. Plus you get to to get exactly what you want.
