"The Szpilman Award is awarded to works that exist only for a moment or a short period of time. The purpose of the award is to promote such works whose forms consist of ephemeral situations." This years winner is Treebute to Yogya. The organisers also maintain a blog and an encyclopædia of ephemeral works.

Have you ever come across a scene you wish you could freeze in time — maybe your child’s first steps or the look on your partner’s face when you proposed? Perhaps you’ve even lived moments like this rather than just watching from the sidelines. It doesn’t always have to be good memories — sometimes we also would benefit by remembering the bad. Here is a photostream that captures Moments When Time Freezes.

Right. I'm confused by a few things here, but I guess I could start with number one being what exactly is going on with those trees on the head.

Number two is why that man in the first link has slices of bread where his face should be.

That's maybe the fifth weirdest thing I've seen on a motorbike in Yogya, and I was only there for a week.

How can you objectively review such works if you weren't there to view them? And if you can get a sufficient impression of those works without being there, do they really qualify for that award?
