"Best..Menorah...Ever"

"I was daydreaming in class about who knows what, when I thought of my fire poofer project...I tried to think of ways I could apply a fireball shooter to things in ways that would be pretty awesome. I thought of using a microcontroller to sync the fire to the beat of music - now that would be pretty cool, and the patterns would always be different, so it wouldn't get as boring as fast. Then I thought of the game Guitar Hero." High school student Chris Marion hacks a guitar controller and builds FireHero. Facemelting ensues.

That's moderately awesome. It's sort of a shame that he wasn't able to control the flames via the controller, but still impressive.

It also looks like some strange pagan rite dedicated to a basketball hoop.

There may be one or two pandas suffering for this one too. Sorry. It'd be one or two war pigs suffering.

I wanted an encore so I held up my lighter.

The band just laughed at me.

Someone has to show this kid a Ruben's Tube.

mrzarquon, he knows about ruben's tubes and mentions them in his build description. While it doesn't light up during the songs, you can see his tube in the videos - a horizontal pipe right in front of the big tank.

gnutron: I'm pretty sure he got some advice from the folks who build DDI.

THAT WAS AWESOMMMMMME!!!

And I have none of the equipment needed to do something similar. Have to figure out something new.

Ah, I didn't get down that far in his post about it before I ran off to look at videos of Ruben's tubes.

Needs more death metal.

Sorry, AC/DC doesn't really measure up to the amount of metal required for that bad ass of a setup. Ozzy gets a pass for being a founder but its still pretty weak.

Black Sabbath, fire and Guitar Hero? That's like combining peanut butter, chocolate and crack for me.

Also, this should be a required peripheral for Guitar Hero: Rammstein.

Jimi Hendrix looked down upon what he created and saw that it was good.

Could someone please turn on the asavage beacon? Because this really needs to happen.

I'd like to see it installed in the Jet powered VW.

This is pretty gosh darn cool guys! In fact it is so cool that a friend of a friend made something very similar for Burning Man 2010, lots of random people came through and played it and thought it was totally awesome!
