On my birthday, people throughout the ages got pissed off that everyone was forgetting their birthdays.

I was born on the same day as Constitution Day here in the Republic of China. Otherwise known as Christmas.

I share a birthday with Pat Sajak and Hillary Rodham Clinton. I try not to think about it. Even the addition of Cary Elwes can't help ease the pain.

But apparently the "1st use of 'getaway car' occurs after holding up a shop in Paris." A coincidence? Perhaps!

How long before this thread is mentioned in Metatalk? I'd do it, but I'm lazy.

hey, today is my birthday! and this is the first thing I've ever seen that doesn't mention that it's the birthdays of Jose Feliciano, Fay Wray, and Arnold Palmer (I think). I always thought those were lame. :)

yes, I bet this will be metatalked. I don't care. a3matrix, this little link was good for me.

This site seems slightly, uh, sparse when it comes to historical events. Things happen around my birthday -- Waco, Oklahoma City, but scouring the week before and after found not a single mention of either event. I'd think they'd make the grade above some of the things mentioned for my birthday, like the resignation of Charles de Gaulle or the first organised night baseball game. Odd.

Henry Winkler (aka The Fonz, for you young-uns) was born. He & I missed being a Halloween baby by just one day. Dammit.

I assume that they just give you a random selection from a much larger list, hence I just got:

July 4th 1975: Fictional wedding date of Coneheads

With no mention of the obvious.

I'll take care of Hiroshima Day!

(For the record, the linked site missed the bombing of Hiroshima, but made note of that fact that Boston Red Sox retired Carl Yastrezemski's #8 in 1989. Wheee.)

Lots of things happened on my birthday which aren't mentioned here, not the least of which was the capitualtion of France in WWII. I've always convinced myself that the Watergate break-in happened on June 17th too.

Wow, I'm a Christmas baby also! Sadly, on the exact day that I was born (Dec. 25, 1961) Rheinhold Rudenberg, inventor of electron microscope, died.

late in the thread as usual (bloody timezones), but i've got me an ian brown (of stone roses), a sidney poitier, a kelsey grammer and a kurt cobain.

all the events seemed to have something to do with american baseball, which i don't quite register as events.
