How can I develop a better sense of direction?

I have no internal compass and no inherent sense of direction. When I think north, south, east, west, I have to picture a map of the whole U.S. in order to remember where they all are in relation to each other. At work, statements such as "meet in the south parking lot" bring up no immediate mental image of where that might be. Is there anything I can do to not be lost all the time?

What should I eat to obtain a flat stomach?

This is a tangent on the various posts asking about how getting a six-pack stomach. I'm 5'10' and 155 lbs and once and for all, I want to get rid of my slight beer gut and get a flat stomach (any pack would be a welcome bonus). I know that it's all about dieting/nutrition and exercising. I have the exercising thing down, but I have no clue about nutrition. Without giving me intake percentages or confusing me with omega fructose 3 fatty acid stuff, what should I eat to make my stomach flat?

My Car is a Sitting Duck: How can I stop thieves from taking it?

My apartment was broken into last week and the thieves stole my car keys (among other things). Curiously, they didn't steal my car out of the driveway on their way out, but I'm worried they might come back. I've got the Club protecting the car as best it can for now, but what else do I have to worry about?

sing us a song, you're the piano man

Many pianists I know know many of the popular songs -- moonlight sonata, chariots of fire, piano man, the "Peanuts" song, fur elise, etc. Is there a list of the most popular piano pieces out there, both contemporary and classical? Even better if there is a songbook with the sheet music? Even better if it's available online? I'm looking to learn a few dozen songs with my free time in the Fall.

Please help me find shirts which are interesting not just for their pattern!

It would be great if people could share their favourite suppliers/retailers/tailors for affordable, quality shirts. I'm talking about shirts which are either interesting, different or vintage. I'd be especially keen on those with detachable collars - this was in fact the reason for my asking the question.

How can I learn how to plan meals?

I have a hard time preparing and eating three healthy meals a day. I 'm a great cook and I've taken college-level nutrition courses, but there's a big difference between knowing how to make one particular dish and being able to shop for, prepare and eat three meals a day, five or six days a week. I've tried many times to have a healthier diet. It's not that I crave fast-food or junk - I prefer foods that are good for me. But I just can't get to a point where I consistently eat good food on any sort of schedule. [mi]

Frizzy Hair Begone!

My friend is a young Indian woman in her early 30's and this NYC weather is killing her hair. She has long, naturally black thick-stranded (coarse, really) hair and her problem is that it's frizzy. Really really frizzy. Okay, ladies, how can she make her hair more healthy? Anti-friz shampoo isn't working here. Grease isn't either. It's been a life-long problem, too. Advice from Indian women welcome :D
