Firefox memory leak

If I leave a firefox window open for a long time (all day, for instance) an explorer window will pop up telling me my computer is low on memory and that I need to close firefox. When I open task manager it's consuming hundreds of MBs of memory. When I close it and reopen it, it's back down to about 75 MBs. I thought they had fixed memory leaks in a previous version. Is there any way to avoid this? (I've got 2GB RAM)

We have the facts and we're voting...

At 12:00am EST, in the Ballot Room of the Balsams Resort in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, the 2008 Presidential Election began.* The vote was 15-6 Obama -- the first time a Democrat has carried the village since 1968. Despite their "first in the nation" status, though, they have only picked the winner 50% of the time.

How much will HDTV priced drop this season?

I still don't have HDTV and have been postponing this major expense as much as I can. Last week was in Costco and saw Westinghouse 32" LCD for just $399 and almost snapped. Does it make any sense to wait longer? Will prices sink after Christmas or will they stay flat?

Plenty of beaches, but where are the best waves?

InternetFilter: Besides MetaFilter, whats the must read of the day? Tired of perusing the usual suspects for cool things on the internet. As I grow older find myself a bit less enthused over reddit, fark, digg, etc. As we all know, Metafilter is the holy grail of knowledge and all things fantastic, but I find myself wondering if there are a couple of pit stops missing before arriving here that will make my internet time better. Thinking along the lines of science, art, sociology, psychology, music and more. Any and all suggestions much appreciated.

I've suddenly got three teens. Help me!

I started dating someone pretty seriously at the beginning of the summer. Due to his former wife's emotional instability, his three children (a 16-year-old daughter and 12-year-old twin sons) are living with us in my small two-bedroom apartment. I always wanted to have kids, but this is rather sudden! I'm lost and stumbling. Please offer any advice you think relevant.

Something is just... off.

I'm completely confused about why this is bothering me so much. Can you help me figure it out? My wonderful adorable boyfriend of several years has recently begun a D&D campaign with his friends, and their typically evil characters go around murdering, stealing, and raping. Why oh why do I have no problems with the first two in games, but become incredibly frustrated when I hear about that third?

This Nagging Question

How does a husband and a wife deal with nagging and the resultant arguments? My wife is a self-admitted nag. I am a self-admitted procrastinator. She likes to make decisions and do things now. I would rather sleep on it and let things develop a bit. I don't have a problem with leaving a dish or two in the sink. She needs the place to be near spotless. I am not a slob. She is not anal-retentive. When she wants me to hang curtains, she wants it done now. If I need something done, I will do it myself on a deadline I feel will not impact the situation. I don't think this problem is unique to our relationship. How have you and your wife better dealt with this proverbial problem? A good answer to this question is not 'just pick up your sh*t!'.

GiveWell, or Give 'em Hell?

Is This Transparency? OP with very slim, one-year posting history asks a question about finding a good charity in AskMe, just prior to year-end tax-decision time. Newly registered responder posts a newly formed charity-aggregator/evaluator organization, without mentioning that he is, apparently, one of the two founders. Self-promotional setup leading to self-link? Or am I being too cynical?

How do I dump a heavy-loaded 800MB MySQL table without affecting anything? I have a MySQL database serving data for a business-critical popular website. I need to grab the data from one of the tables, but cannot affect the website's performance in any way. I don't mind if it takes days to do it, as long as it affects absolutely nothing.
