Babe Ruth threw a piano into a Massachusetts pond eighty-something years ago. Will finding and restoring it break the Curse of the Bambino? Who cares! Life is about the journey, and this is a cool one.

Only if we also drown Bill Buckner at the same time

(j/k, the man was injured, which begs the question WHY WAS HE ON THE FIELD IN THE LAST INNING WITH THE SCORE SO CLOSE?? WHAT THE HELL?????? I WAS LIKE SEVEN YEARS OLD WHEN I SAW THAT AND THE STUPIDITY SHOCKS ME TO THIS VERY DAY)

i used to work with john mcnamara's daughter, when i lived in honolulu. when i told her i was from boston, she cringed. after we became friends, she said she's always been hesitant to tell people from the hub about her infamous lineage. but i've never been a serious sports fan, so we were able to laugh about it. she was still a little touchy when teased about it, though.

I just moved to Boston, and I think the Red Sox should win soon - because these folks have a serious complex about it (Patriots win notwithstanding)

Settle. . .Bill Buckner had a great career with the Dodgers, then the Sox. It was not his fault. . .the Sox had 2 strikes, no one on with a 2 run lead.

It was an error but the cow was way out of the barn by then and even if the out was made, Boston was toast by then in extra innings.

I get tired of Buckner-bashing. .. ..he was a fine player.

although Buckner started his career with the Dodgers, I feel his best years were in the Friendly Confines with the Cubs.

totally sad ending to a damn good career, but maybe that's what he gets for not signing my baseball at that video store in Hanover Park, IL.

Best Bamino's Curse Website: BabinosCurse.com, of course. (great design, too).

Pedro Martinez's record since saying that he didn't believe in the curse and would drill the Babe in the ass with a pitch if he could? 0-2, with SIX no decisions, and 5.89 ERA. Yup, no curse indeed.
