Eyes. Goggles. Nothing.

After 5 or 6 submits-and-refreshes, I haven't felt as violently opposed to the very concept of poetry in years.

Thanks for that.

Interesting.

My better half is a poet by trade, so I just went in the other room and told her about this site.

"You wanna put up a poem?"

"How about I just myself out to kid's parties as a pinata, instead?"

Good point and very well put.

Here's the first comment for the #1 ranked poem:

"Couldn't I just rip your clothes off and fuck you like there's no tomorrow?"

Now come on, that's deep.

I'm sensing a pattern of single sentences and double spaces here.

Now come on, that's deep.

Beyond deep. I, for one, am profoundly moved.

There is some amazing badness on that site...read some of the Top Ten Worst Poems.

read some of the Top Ten Worst Poems.

I used to run a poetry site that openly accepted submissions. I've read enough bad poetry to last me two lifetimes.

my soul is black.
deep with bloody regret.
i need forever and forever
to erase
the razor's edge of
this death
this "poetry."

as an english/ creative writing teacher, i find myself strangely happy that i've found more than enough fodder for an upcoming lesson on cliché.

Ladies and Gentlemen ... my poetry ...

Ladies and Gentlemen ... my reviews (so far) ...

"I didn't think this was very good at all, but I did catch the smell of my nose being broken afterwards, so maybe that means something. "

"The last line did bring it together enough that I knew what you're driving at, but not enough to make it good. Too many cliches."

I suddenly feel like Paul Verhoven. This is really fun ...
