I have a question for Matt. I notice on the Zeldman comment that someone also has the same username as me. I am jay. There is also another jay. I don't think anyone would want to impersonate me, but for some people on this list, this might be a problem. We could all become mathowies, I even created my own mathowie account to see if this really works and it does.

um, this is precisely the type of thing for the metatalk section (or if the question is just for me, then email it to me).

I do a check on username, and you shouldn't be able to register two names the same, but I just checked it and yeah, it seems to be broken (I just registered as mathowie again).

crap. I'll take a look at it tomorrow, sorry that this happened...

Um, I do note, Matt, that MetaTalk seems to have died, lately... is it just me?

And "Hey!" It was my name first!

[ checks numbers ]

Ok, well maybe not *here*.

It was a serious problem and has been fixed. I'm going to remove the other two mathowie's and associated posts, then remove this post and thread at the end of the day today.

(WHEW!) For a minute, I feared that someone may sign up as EricBrooksDotCom, start posting nice things about people...and everyone was gonna like him!

But then again, the thought of having a "Flame War" with "Myself" has always entertained me.....

Maybe you do need to keep the capability to create duplicate identities available as a "feature" for the benefit of posters with multiple personalities.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

I'm just surprised THIS username was available.
(Just messin' with the system on a thread that's going tobe deleted by the end of the day anyway.)
