My company just had our summer outing and one of the actvities was a 45 minute sand sculpting competition. I tried to give the competitors as many links I could find so they could make the best sculpture possible. As I surfed around I was struck by how little basic "how to" information there was. I mean, it's easier to find out how to build a nuclear weapon or to crack DVDs than it is to learn how to build a big sandcastle.

It must be because they're all selling books and/or lessons.

There are some helpful tips at The Internet Center for Sand and these guys have a few advanced techniques. And then there's what science says.
