Inventor Woody Norris has cooked up a device capable of sending soundwaves to specific targets, these sounds are inaudible to anyone besides the intended target.
Apologies. I did run a search for 'Norris' and 'soundwaves' before posting, I guess I missed something.
As far as 'Ho hum' goes, I thought it was pretty interesting considering the advertising, military, and entertainment potential of such a product.

I'm more excited about getting perfect sound finally. I would assume that once (if) he gets the system perfected, it would create amazingly realistic sound -- of course with this guy's track record, it could be nothing more than a low quality sounding gimmick.

The previous article referred to is probably this one on the Audio Spotlight (as named by its previous inventor). It seems odd to me that two people are both claiming the same invention, but Wired don't seem to have any problems with it.
