Can't get enough of the Hampster Dance remix? Now you can buy it on CD. I guess some people will buy just about anything -- just ask the people who made the singing fish for proof.

I think the singing bass must have been invented by the same people who thought the MS Office paperclip was a good idea.

Of course, things can always get worse. In target this weekend, I saw an electronic hot dog condiment dispenser. It looks, of course, like a hot dog. Push a button, and the top rools aside to reveal little bowls for mustard, relish, etc. while an electronic voice exhorts "Get yer hot dogs here!"

I'm sick, but not sick enough to make this up.

I recently discovered that the Hamster Dance song is a speeded up Roger Miller doing a song from the animated Disney Robin Hood.

With respect to superfluous speech capability in day-to-day devices, three words: "share and enjoy"

My mom bought the singing fish aka Boogie Bass for her mother. Too bad she didn't get one for us, I would've loved to listen to it sing. Hours of enjoyment for the family. ;-)

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! I created the FIRST dancing hamster EVER on the web! Now I get no credit. Thieves! Rogues! Scoundrels! (I'm breaking the rules of metafilter here.)

I need another gin & tonic.
