Trying to find a specific article on a local news station's website. Am I wrong, or are 102 links on the left navigation bar a bit much?

I'd suggest hierarchical menus, but they're darn slow for the browser to process. There is a Better Way, indeed.

Perhaps, but at least the links are categorically organized. And there is the advantage of one-click access to any of those 102 sections. ;)

Yup. It sounds like a lot, but it's not overwhelming or anything. I say it's fine, as long as they keep it up.
