No matter what your situation, if you're sexually active, you have a responsibility to get tested. Yes, it's scary, but knowing your status (and acting accordingly) is the only way the spread of HIV can be stopped. If you live in the U.S., this site can direct you to a local organization that can perform the test -- often for free. (via randomwalks)

According to the FDA, there is one kit (and only one kit) that is available for testing yourself at home.

Wow, $74! I guess there's a price for privacy and convenience.

I've taken this test. I highly recommend it. Easy to take, results by phone.

An amusing anecdote: They have a five minute recorded message they go through before they tell you your results. positives are only 99.5% accurate, you can talk to a counselor, etc, etc. The suspense is agony. "Just f**king tell me!!!!"

FYI - I ordered it from Home Access for $44.00.
