Too early to do the link-research necessary to respond properly.

The site that the second link (Sporting News) brings you to has a very interesting method of advertising.

While reading the article, a small clickable advertisement for a Golf website would appear next to my house with a tiny animation. I'm not sure if it happened at random intervals or when my mouse was idle for a certain amount of time. It appears to be random.

I noticed the advertisement too . . . It almost looked like a glitch of some kind. It might be time to take a look at the source code and see what nefarious tricks these folks are up to.

As for the pitch, I don't think we can hold it against Bush. Frankly, I'm impressed that he was on target, and actually got the ball into the catcher's mitt. Were it I on that mound, I'd have ended up hitting the bat boy or something.

Although you'd think as president, the man would be far too busy to "loosen up" his arm.

Quote of the day: Brewers pitcher Mike DeJean shook Bush's hand and told a teammate afterward, "It's nice to have an honest redneck in there finally."

Heh.

Yeah, dogmatic, that cracked me up too.

I pains me to see so few "celebrity pitch-outs" reach the catcher. Really people, is it that hard? Hell, I can understand directional problems, but come on! Rear back and THROW that grapefruit, dammit!

P.S. I didn't see the ad because it's from ad.doubleclick.com, which in my hosts file resolves to 127.0.01... :-)

Thank goodness GW has a day job because he'd make a lousy ball player.

I remember a few years ago seeing baseball commissioner Bud Selig embarass himself with a bad throw like Bush's. At the time, Brewers radio announcer Bob Uecker blamed it on Selig wearing a coat. He said the same thing after Bush's bouncing ball to the plate.

Selig did toss a pitch just before Bush. His made it to the plate with no problems. Selig was wearing a lighter jacket than Bush's thick Brewers coat.

One more item: did anyone notice the headline in the USA Today dealing with the opening of the new Brewers stadium? It said, "Bud and Bush to Open Miller Park." Those funny Gannet guys.

Offhand, does anyone know where a video of this major international embarrassment can be found on the net??
