Happy Canada Day. Canuck nation 134 years old today.
Today is also my birthday! But Canada does have a few years on me. Happy birthday to me and Canada!

heh, i can't believe bluesnews had news about this too, but the also had news about the Canada Day Controversy... like isn't the idea of "Canada Day" kinda lame, like is there an "America Day" or a "France Day"?

I celebrated by singing all 7,438 verses of "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" in the shower. I no longer have skin. Or a girlfriend. She packed and left when I got to verse 4,286:
"There were twenty-nine barstools left empty somewhere
And three hundred Molsons undrunken
Cause the sailors had all switched to water that night,
And the ship they called Eddy was sunken."

Actually you're both wrong. Sort of. Because "Snowbird" was not written by Murray (or Murry) but instead by Prince Edward Islander Gene MacLellan. Not that it matters an awful lot or anything. Either way it's a great song.
I recommend the Ron Sexsmith version, highly. He does Gordon Lightfoot's Sundown too, another National Anthem.
