About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

I was sitting out on the balcony waiting for the cable guy to show up when I saw an alligator swimming lazily by in the shallows below me. I jumped up to get a closer look. The gator saw my sudden movement, stopping its forward motion, sinking into the water until just its eyes and snout were visible. I stood still for a long time. Eventually the gator rose to the surface again and continued its leisurely journey, swishing its tail in a languid way, perhaps having satisfied itself that I was only a figment of its imagination.
