Out of all the weird Photoshop beautifying techniques, the skinnying thing weirds me out most. This is probably because I imagine their poor arm bones being squeezed like a sponge in a vice.

I'm a really non-fan of the race adjusting. :/ But the skinnying is also incredibly disturbing in its own way.

The skinnying is disturbing cause the people in the photos are already at high levels of super-fit/thin whatever and then the photo editor goes "Nope! still not enough! Make it look like they have no bones!" Cause this stuff is all about unattainable standards.

(oh! about the pro-pixel line, hilarious, and reminds me of my friend's comment about how all advertising is sympathetic magic. Pearls are shiny, if you put a picture of a pearl on a bottle of skin lotion then it will make me shiny. Positive theory of contamination!)

Yes, that particular campaign is very nicely done, but don't forget that Dove is a brand owned by Unilever who also own a whole boatload of personal care brands, many of the adverts for which, I'm sure, feature plenty of Fotoshop. When it suits them to play it natural they do, when it doesn't they don't.

This is both an excellent send-up of the stupidity of photoshopping and the stupidity of cosmetics commercials in general. So its a win on multiple levels.

I find that Fotoshop by Adobé can actually be quite pleasing, if used sparingly.

Unlike the stench of Phlash by Adobé, which always just gives me a migrane.
