This sounds painfully hilarious. From the Wikipedia link in the post: ...Arranging a pornographic film show in a hotel and having assured the "punters" that the film was "the real Laurel and Hardy, if you know what I mean", making his escape before they find out the film really is a Laurel and Hardy movie.

We all are I'm afraid. Not Adam though, 10 years dead this year. I'm old enough to have seen this on its first run. It was hugely popular in my mid-teenage bracket.

Ha! I went to Broadstairs College back in 1972. It was a mixed trades college - catering, hairdressing, engineering, etc. Sandy was head of the Christmas committee and a bit of a rocker. Most of the budget was spent on getting Budgie, with a small leftover amount on a DJ afterwards. The engineering guys loved it. The hairdressers hated it, "You can't dance to this shit".
