It only takes four octoballoons to lift the raft? Ganon can have the land, I will RULE THE SKIES!

I laughed so hard I had to pause, go use the restroom, come back, pause again, use the restroom a second time... and then finish the video. A++ would watch again.

I saw this floating around near release, and avoided watching it. Having beat the game it strikes me just how much I failed to experiment with the combat system, despite feeling like I'd done a lot with it.

Getting blown off a cliff by your own leaf as wielded by an enemy is a heck of a way to go. Amazing.

Fantastic. Got a bunch of new moves to try!

What an incredible game. I defeated my first couple of Guardians today with a shield parry and I am S T O K E D.

Can this be the Gush About BotW thread? Because I just… man. If nothing else, I looooove how they did the Lost Woods, because instead of making it about finding the right person to tell you the solution, they made it about… noticing.

You should never attack a chicken in Zelda.

I was VERY worried that in making it a sandbox game that it would lose the Zelda charm. I knew it would be a good game, but I wasn't sure it would be a good ZELDA game. The reviews helped a lot, because there is no fan base more rabid and resistant to change than the Zelda fanbase. So the myriad of perfect scores eased my fears a bit.

Having now put a number of hours into it, I can say without hesitation that is it 100% still a Zelda game. It hits all the right sweet spots while dropping the chore, the slog, the downsides of the play style.

It is truly amazing.

Breath of the Wild seems to be a nice new chapter point for Nintendo. What impresses me most about their strange new alchemy of open world physics sandbox+chemistry engine is the slow reveal of a very playful AI system. The enemies experiment and react with the world in most of the same ways the player does. Whimsical delight is still the driving theme after 60 hours of play and very little in the way of major story/objective completion, for me.

I was thrilled to discover a green rupee under a rock. In a Zelda game.

To me, this feels like the first Zelda game since A Link to the Past.

Ersatz, I went through the first few hours earnestly not knowing whether the game would feature the concept of money
